fifteen cardboard boxes, sand
Garden questiones the possibility of a space that is able to contain itself, appears as a “place” according to its environment yet keeps its option to be in other places. Zen gardens, which constitute fifteen rocks placed within a certain semantic framework on a ground of raked sand refers to the starting point of such spatial experience. Fifteen cardboard boxes in varying sizes, filled with raked sand, imitates the clusters in Zen gardens. In a nomadic state, each and every box stands as the sand, the rock and the garden simultaneously.
